The Fire Chief's 1933 Packard Super 8 Sport Phaeton

1931 Packard Super 8 Sport Phaeton

Specially ordered for the Fire Chief of Albany, New York, in 1933, this Packard has purpose.  Fire engine red and boasting a siren, the car let Albany's fire fighters know the chief had indeed arrived.

This car features the Packard Super 8 and Packard coach work, a removable rear windshield for rear passengers, and a number of unusual features including a rear mounted spare, and a tool box built into the right fender. With no side windows and snap on side curtains, the car combines the features of a roadster's open air touring and the practicality of five passenger seating.  The lack of side mounts make the car appear longer, lower and more elegant.  Obviously, it was good to be the Chief!

Well maintained and recently acquired by a new owner, this car runs like a top.

We'll show it to you in 18 pages of full color photography and tell you its story.

1953 Hudson Italia Prototype/Touring

1953 Hudson Italia Prototype/Touring

In September 1953 Hudson debuted its hand built prototype "Car of the Future, " the Italia.  Built in Milan, by Carrozzeria Touring, the Italia features Touring's patented Superleggera construction.  Its hand formed body is sexy to be sure, but underneath the chassis and components are all Hudson Jet.  The Italia's design was inspired by Frank Spring, a man whose career included time at coach-builder Murphy in the 1930's.  Once the car was completed, Spring and his wife drove it around Italy.  After that it toured the U.S. as the center piece of Hudson's auto shows.

This prototype differs from the production cars only slightly, and save for a repaint, the car is all original.  Only 26 Italias were built and sold from 1954 through 1955.

We'll show you the Italia Prototype in 16 pages of four color photography and tell you its fascinating story.

1957 Rolls-Royce EX 44/Hooper

1957 Rolls Royce EX 44 / Hooper

EX 44 was an experimental car Rolls-Royce built in 1957 to test the chassis, V8 engine and other components that would eventually become the Phantom V.  Its development was a closely guarded secret.

This 145 inch wheel based limousine is one of the last Rolls-Royces to be bodied by Hooper.  Though made of aluminum, the car weighs a staggering 7,700 lbs.

When EX 44 was built, it didn't look like this, but for a car that's had the double life EX44 has enjoyed, it's all part of the story.  We'll show you how it originally looked, tell you how it survived, and share the current owner's story of how it came to be his.

All in 20 pages of stunning four color photography and copy.
